Mathematics
We have been solving multi-step word problems by adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing. We are also factoring. On the left is a factoring activity we did to become familiar with factoring larger numbers. Also, to get better at factoring, we are practicing our multiplication tables. Students will be doing some assignments to that end in addition to the ones they will be completing on factoring.
As a part of our unit on multi-step word problems, students created their own multi-step problems in small groups. Another group activity was a game in which the class was divided into teams to play a speed factoring game. Soon, we will create arrays to visualize factorizations. We will use a game from Illuminations: Factorize.
